Stylish Sketches – Special Day

Welcome to the Cardz 4 Guyz (#307) and the Hand Stamped Sentiments (#400) challenges launching today!

Autumn Colors and Autumn Inspiration.  I was drawn to the bottom right photo with the Gourds.

I selected the sketch from Fusion and additional inspiration for the color choices and the clean design of the sleek kitchen.  Ultimately using variations of Green and Orange as suggested by Color Hues (#51) with the neutrals of Vanilla and Gold.  

Let the fun begin!  Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Evening Evergreen cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Hope each moment of your day is as special as you are, from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Horizontal Cross Strip: (5½” x 1¾”) Brushed Gold cardstock.
• Accent Strip #1: (5½” x ½”) Soft Succulent cardstock.
• Accent Strip #2: (5½” x ½”) Mango Melody cardstock.
• Banner: (2” x 2¾”) Very Vanilla cardstock.  The flagged end was punched with the retired Banner Triple Punch.
• Circle: (1⅞”) Evening Evergreen cardstock die-cut with one of the circle dies from the retired Stitched Shapes Dies set.
• Focal Image – Figs: Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The Fig and Leaves image from the now retired Sale-a-bration Stylish Sketches stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink.
  • The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends. Figs – Light and Dark Mango Melody and Leaves – Light Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen.
  • The image was then fussy cut with Paper Snips.

All of the elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Figs were popped up with Dimensionals.

A great card for anyone in your life.  Just a reminder of how much they mean to you or to celebrate their birthday.
