Flowers of Friendship – Happy Birthday

Tuesday is around the corner and I am working on the Case-ing Tuesday Challenge #301.  This week the Sample and Sketch is from page 59 of the Mini Spring Catalog.

I decided to mix it up with the two other challenges:  Color Hues #16 and Seize the Birthday #212.

And this is the result:

FLOWERS OF FRIENDSHIP – FOUR SEASON FLORALS – CASE-ING TUESDAY 301 – COLOR HUE #16 – SEIZE THE BIRTHDAY #212

The color challenge allows the use of neutral colors and I selected Shimmery White and Soft Seafoam.  For the Spring Flowers, I chose the sweet blossoms from the new Friendship of Flowers stamp set and for the Birthday theme, the sentiment is from the Four Seasons Florals stamp set.

The Flowers were inked individually using the Basic Gray Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped on to the Shimmery White panels. Center panel is (1½” x 3½”) and the side panels are (1¼” x 3½”).  The Flowers were colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The Blossoms: Light and Dark So Saffron with some Light Daffodil Delight and the Leaves: Light Soft Seafoam and Light Smoky Slate.

The Gray background accent panel (5” x 3”) is one of the patterns from the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper pack.

I chose a Smoky Slate card base (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) and an additional So Saffron cardstock background panel (5¼” x 4”).  The So Saffron panel was dry-embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a bit of texture.

The sentiment was stamped with Basic Gray ink on to a scrap of Soft Seafoam cardstock, trimmed (2⅛” x ¾”) and also dry-embossed with the same embossing folder.  A bit of White Baker’s Twine was wrapped around the left edge and then popped up with Dimensionals to complete the card.

I love a three-panel sketch.  Tons of possibilities.  Yellow and Gray look so lovely together and Floral Birthday cards are perfect to have on hand whenever you need to send a card to a friend.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. I have always loved this type of layout and your card is so pretty! The added twine for the sentiment is a nice touch. Thanks for joining us at both Color Hues and Seize the Birthday!
