Butterfly Bijou – Making Magic

Another challenge deadline is coming up fast.  I really liked the suggested sketch this week from the Paper Craft Crew – PCC423 and played with the current colors suggested by the Global Design Team – GDP289.

I have been creating projects with the Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper and had a few pieces on my work table that just needed to be used and this card was an ideal project.

Here is was I made:

BUTTERFLY BIJOU – BRILLIANT WINGS DIES – PCC423 – GDP289

From the patterned sheet of Butterflies that lines up perfectly with the Brilliant Wings Dies, you can cut six Butterflies at once, I used the smaller yellow Butterfly for the shape element.

To create the Basic White card front, I die-cut cut the panel (4” x 5¼’) with the In the Woods Die twice to go from a small space on the left to a larger space on the right.

The sentiment, Magic is Something you Make, is from the Dina Wakely collection and has been in my stash for some time.  I am generally all Stampin’ Up! but some other stuff does make its way into the Studio from time to time.  This was stamped in Coastal Cabana ink.

I chose the patterned sheet of mini-colored floating Butterflies that had the core colors (Bumble Bee, Magenta Madness and Coastal Cabana) to fit between the split Basic White panel.  The panel was trimmed (3¾” x 5’) and dry-embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

Keeping the card clean and simple, I added a Magenta Madness cardstock mat (3⅞” x 5⅛”) and a card base of Coastal Cabana cardstock (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼’).  The yellow Butterfly was added with some Liquid Multi-Purpose Glue along the spine so that the Wings could be folded up for some flutter dimension.

A cute, quick little card.  There is something truly magical about Butterflies, don’t you think…

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
