New Memories – Up and Away

Design Team Time for the Atlantic Hearts (#695) Sketch and the Cardz 4 Guyz (#389) Theme.  Always fun to come up with ideas to combine challenges!

Sharing with Love Those Pretty Papers (#2608) and the “Sky” twist and Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#31) with a “Travel” twist.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½ x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Highland Heather cardstock.      
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Dark Starry Sky patterned piece of paper from the retired Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper pack.
• Split Panel: (3¼” x 5”) Purple Toned Mountain patterned piece of paper from the same paper pack cut in three: Left and Right (1” x 5”) and Center (1¼” x 5”).
• Focal Image – Hot Air Balloon: (2¾” x 3¾) Night of Navy and Fresh Freesia cardstock.
  • Using the large Balloon die from the retired Up & Away Thinlits Dies set, the Night of Navy Balloon was die-cut.
  • The Balloon was adhered to the Fresh Freesia piece and fussy-cut with Detail Scissors.
• Sentiment: (3” x 1¼”) Vellum Specialty Paper scrap.
  • The sentiment, Time to make new memories, the retired Next Destination stamp set was stamped with Versamark and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2⅛” x ⅞”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Hot Air Balloon was popped up with Dimensionals. 

A wonderful present…to travel along in an evening ride in a hot air balloon…the stuff of new experiences and memories…be it birthday, engagement or anniversary…
