Design Team Time for The Card Concept (#228a) Inspiration Board for both theme and colors for a clean and simple layered Father’s Day card.

Sharing with Festive Friday (#211) including several elements on the list and Simply Clean & Simple (#2606) for a Nautical Twist.

Choosing the As You See It (#374) Sketch to bring my ideas together.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Boho Blue cardstock (retired).
- Background Panel: (3½” x 4¾”) Cloud Cover Watercolor Wash Envelope from the Serene Scenes Kit, trimmed.
- Shape – Circle: (3¼” x 3¼”) Secret Sea cardstock die-cut with the (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- Focal Image – Sailboat: Basic White, Real Red and Boho Blue cardstock scraps punched out with the retired Sailboat Builder Punch.
- Sentiment Label: Cloud Cover cardstock scrap.
- The Father’s Day sentiment stamp, also from the Serene Scenes Kit was stamped with Secret Sea ink and then trimmed to (1⅛” x ¾”).
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Boat Sails and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimesionals and a few retired Basic Gray Silver Pearls were added for a bit of bling.

It’s that season where I live, on Okanagan Lake! All the sailboats come out whenever the breeze comes up, and a fleet of them catch the late sun on the water! This so reminds me of the view! I love the nautical palette! That simple little punched sailboat looks so terrific in those colours! The ink blending in the background is a great touch, too! Thanks for using our sketch at As You See It!

Very clean and crisp, Jolanda and a lovely take on the sketch. I think the watercolour wash is perfect for that jaunty sail boat. Thanks for sharing with us again at As You See It. 🙂
