Design Team Time for The Card Concept (#227) Inspiration Board for both theme and colors and the Atlantic Hearts (#681) Sketch choosing to combine the two.
Sharing with Inspire Create (#215) using both wet and dry Embossing Techniques and Facebook’s Global Design Project (#547) Landscape theme.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Secret Sea Two-Tone cardstock – Light Side dry-embossed with the newly retired Lovely Stripes 3D Embossing Folder and lightly sanded to bring out the white core pattern mimicking the blue paneling.
- Side Panel: (1¾” x 4½”) Linen patterned piece of paper from the retired Woven Textures Designer Series Paper pack.
- The Light House and Birds images from the retired Sailing Home stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper and Pewter (retired) Embossing Powders, respectively.
- Central Shape – Circle Accent Mat: Crumb Cake cardstock die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- Central Shape – Circle Focal Image: (2¼” x 2¼”) Secret Sea Two-Tone cardstock – Dark Side.
- The World Map image from the retired The Open Sea stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- Sentiment Label: Crumb Cake cardstock scrap.
- The Knotted Rope image, also from the Sailing Home stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
- The greeting, Happy Father’s Day, from the Lakeside Retreat stamp set part of the April 2026 Paper Pumpkin Kit, was also stamped directly over top of the Rope with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
- The greeting was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Rope Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.
The nautical seascape coloring makes for an ideal masculine card…perfect for Father’s Day.
