Happy Dance – Enjoying the Rain

Welcome back!  Already Wednesday…

For today, I am playing with several challenges that have a similar theme – those April Showers.  Better get it done as there is only one more day left in the month.

Starting with: Retro Rubber (#270) – Singing in the Rain; Inkspirational (#366) Word – Rain; If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#215) – Rainy Days; Ellibelle’s I Spy (#36) – Spring Showers; and Pick 3 (#2604) choosing Rain, Pastels and Feminine.

Bringing my ideas together, I chose to CASE Cindy Coutts for Stampin’ Up! Only (#400).

Here is the result:

FLOWING FLOWERS – RAIN OR SHINE SPECIALTY DSP – RRCB270 – IC366 – CC215 – EIS036 – PICK32604 – SUOC400

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Gray cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock
  • Background Panel: (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Balmy Blue / Basic Gray Rain patterned piece of paper from the retired Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Cross Strip: (3⅝” x 1⅜”) Vellum Specialty Paper.
    • The sentiment, time for a happy dance, from the retired Flowing Flowers stamp set (circa 2022) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • Decoration – Umbrellas: Umbrella patterned paper from the same Paper pack.
    • Several different pastel-toned Umbrellas were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble Cindy’s layout.  Two Umbrellas were popped up with Dimensionals.

We are in a drought situation locally and while I prefer sunshine, some rain would be most welcome.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  3. Really cute, Jolanda! I busted out that same DSP for some rainy day cards myself recently, and we actually got rain (and snow!!) a couple of days this week which I am sure was due to my rainy cards, haha. I like the vellum strip for your greeting and those fussy-cut dancing umbrellas are so cute. Thanks for playing along with us at SUO Challenges!
