Design Team Time. This round at Cardz 4 Guyz (#346) we are visiting the Jungle, and the Hand Stamped Sentiments (#437) Sketch was ideal.
Additional inspiration came from Retro Rubber (#229) for the stamp set(s) selection…something older than one year and the items on the Tic Tac Toe Board.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Tropical Leaf patterned piece of paper from the retired Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper pack.
- Bottom Strip: (5⅛” x 1½”) Striped patterned piece of paper, also from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper pack.
- The Strip was dry-embossed with the new Diamond Fun Patterns Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive Product.
- The Strip was then distressed. Using a Sanding Block, the raised embossed pattern was lightly sanded to highlight the design.
- Accent Strip: (5” x ⅝”) Pretty Peacock cardstock scrap torn diagonally on the right edge.
- Focal Panel: (3⅝” x 2⅛”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Horned Rhinoceros & Bird image from the retired Animal Outing stamp set (circa 2018) was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
- The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Rhino – Light Smoky Slate; Bird – Light Pretty Peacock; Beak – Dark Daffodil Delight; and Ground – Light Old Olive.
- Sentiment Circle: Old Olive cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, wild about you, from the retired A Little Wild stamp set (circa 2017) was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- Ribbon Accent: (1¾”) retired Braided Burlap Trim with one edge cut on the diagonal.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. I swapped out the sentiment label for the circle and added the ribbon element in its place as this was a more pleasing arrangement given my stamped image. The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.
A fun little card that can be used for a number of occasions.
