Simply Zinnia – Thank You

Hi again!  There are a few “Purple” challenges out there and this is what I created…

Playing with Christmas (or not) Bingo (#6) Line “N” for Purple, Watercolor and Black along with the Facebook Joy of Sets (April) for Purple, too.  I selected the current Freshly Made (#631) Sketch for a Square card incorporating elements from the new Tic Tac Toe (#245) Center Line for Square, Die and Emboss to support my idea.

Here is the result:

SIMPLY ZINNIA – WILD FERNS – CBC006 – JOS April 2024 – FMS631 – TTTC245

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock for a Square card.
  • Background Panel: (4⅛” x 4⅛”) Highland Heather cardstock dry-embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Circle Mat: (3¼” x 3¼”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with that same sized Circle die from the retired Circles Collection Thinlits Dies set.
  • Focal Image – Zinnias: (4” x 5”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Floral image from the Simply Zinnia stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • The image was water-colored using both the Wide-Tipped and Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brushes.
    • 1)  The paper was washed with a light application of Fresh Freesia ink to color the background.
    • 2) The Zinnias were painted with a light application of Highland Heather ink.
    • 3) Detail (highlights/shadows) were added with Gorgeous Grape ink.
    • 4) Similarly, the Leaves were colored with Granny Apple Green and Old Olive ink.
    • The lower Stems and Leaves were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
    • The (3”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set was fitted under the Stems and Leaves so that the rest of the Floral image could be die-cut in a circle shape.
  • Sentiment: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thank You, from the Wild Ferns stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the Torn Tape die from the Gorgeously Made Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.
