Welcome back!  More Valentine challenges…

Inspiration Themes: TGIF (#457); Inspired By (#273); Stampin’ Up! Only (#343); and Heart’s Quest (#47) including elements; Color: Color Dare (#583); and Sketch: Paper Craft Crew (#554) to bring it all together.

Here is the result:

TROPICAL LEAF – BLOOMIN’ HEARTS DIES – TGIFC457 – IB273 – SUOC344 – HQCB47 – CD583 – PCC554

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4″) Bubble Bath Watercolor Wash patterned piece of paper from the On-Line Exclusive Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The sentiment letters, XOXO, from the On-Line Exclusive Tropical Leaf stamp set was stamped with Versamark and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • A Heart-Shape opening was die-cut with one of the Heart dies from the retired Hearts Framelits Dies set.
  • Underlay: (3¾” x 3¾”) Poppy Parade cardstock.
  • Overlay: (4” x 4”) Vellum.
    • Using the Large Floral Heart die from the retired Bloomin’ Hearts Framelits Dies set, a heart shape type doily was created.
  • Arrow: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • A (5”) Arrow was drawn and colored with the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend Marker and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Floral Decoration: Five coordinating Flowers were die-cut with the two Flower dies from the Bloomin’ Hearts Framelits Dies set from the remaining Heart scrap of the Bubble Bath Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper piece.
    • The Flowers were colored with the Dark Bubble Bath Stampin’ Blend Marker to intensify the color.
    • From a scrap of Basic Black cardstock, five Dots were punched out with a hand-held Punch and adhered to the backs of the Flowers.

All elements were arranged to resemble a variation of the sketch.

  1. Wonderful Heart’s Quest #47 pairing of the arrow and heart-shaped doily (loving the floral die-cut version!!!) Awesome girlfriend card! The flowers and soft pink background paper just add more sweetness and delicacy to the card! Thanks for including HQCB #47 elements into your creation! –Becca

  2. How very delicate and pretty! Love the use of vellum over the heart and the arrow actually shooting through it. Fabulous card. Always enjoy seeing what you come up with each challenge. Thank you for sharing at Color Dare.

  3. I have this same die and couldn’t figure out how I would use it. The background red on the heart is perfect. Beautiful card. Thanks for sharing with us at Color Dare.
