Winter Wonderland – Just For You

Indulge me…a few more deadlines are looming with similar themes.

CAS on Friday (#275); Shopping Our Stash (#514); Time Out (#255) along with Retro Rubber (#223) which suggests the colors and bringing it all together the Global Design Project (#430) Sketch.

Here is the result:

ROOTED IN NATURE – WATERFRONT – COS275 – SOS514 – TOC255 – RRCB223 – GDP430

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
  • Accent Panel: (3” x 4¼”) Pool Party Linen patterned piece of paper from the Free Sale-a-bration Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Panel – Winter Scene: (3” x 4¼”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Tree image from the retired Rooted in Nature stamp set (circa 2018) and the Sun and Splatter images from the retired Waterfront stamp set (circa 2018) were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • Using a new technique that I learned from Natalie White, one of Stampin’ Up!’s Team Member’s, using Baby Wipes and Classic Stampin’ Ink™ Refills, color was added to the watercolor paper for an Ombre look.  Colors chosen: Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Orchid Oasis and Misty Moonlight.
    • To do this technique…a few drops of ink are added to a wet baby wipe and then the color is swiped on in a sweeping motion.  I started at the bottom with Pool Party and switched to the top with Misty Moonlight and then added Balmy Blue to the lower middle and finished off with Orchid Oasis in the upper middle, blending as I went.  I think this is a cool way to add color to the paper for a quick easy watercolor technique.
  • Sentiment Flag: Pool Party Linen scrap.
    • The sentiment, Just For You, from the Rooted in Nature stamp set was stamped with Orchid Oasis ink and then flagged with Paper Snips.

All elements were arranged to resemble the sketch which I flipped to the vertical position.

A serene winter card suitable for any occasion.
