Sock Monkey – Baby Boy Blue

A brand-new week!  Welcome back.

Over at Just Add Ink (#653) I chose Baby and Banner.  Tying into Tic Tac Toe (#209) adding Any Shape and Plaid.  My Shape – a Sock Monkey, my Colors – Blue and Aqua from the Just Us Girls (#680) Mood Board.  Bringing it all together, the Inspire Create (#143) Sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Azure Afternoon cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Tahitian Tide Plaid patterned piece of paper from the now retired patterns 2022/2024 In-Color Designer Series Paper pack.
• Block Shapes – Mini Banners: (1⅝” x 1⅝”) Tahitian Tide cardstock scraps hand flagged (¼”) with Paper Snips.
  • The Heart image from the retired Wood Words stamp set was stamped on two (2) of the Banners with Azure Afternoon ink.
  • The sentiment, Hello Baby, from the retired Moon Baby stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The edges of the Banners were Faux Stitched with the Starry Sky Stampin’ Write Marker.
  • The Banners were dry-embossed with the retired Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder for a cozy blanket impression.
• Focal Image – Sock Monkey: (3” x 3”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Sock Monkey image from the retired Sock Monkey stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers.  Colors used: Light Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade, Tahitian Tide and Smoky Slate.
  • The Sock Monkey was fussy cut with Paper Snips and then also dry-embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder for a knitted impression.

All of the elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sock Monkey was popped up with a Dimensionals.

Such a cute baby card.  Who doesn’t love a Sock Monkey?
