Sending Smiles

Happy Sunday!  Hoping you will have some time to be creative today.

Creating a quick little CAS (Clean and Simple) card for a few challenges.  Let’s have some fun.

Starting with the CAS Colours & Sketches (#511) sketch and inspired by the circles.  Adding Stripes for the CAS on Friday (#257) theme and picking up elements from the Festive Friday (#134) listing re: National Smile Day: Yellow, Black, Circles and Sentiment.

Here is the result:

SENDING SMILES – BRIGHT & BEAUTIFUL DSP – DOODLING – CC&S511 – COS527 – FF0134

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (3⅛” x 3⅛”) Basic Black cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3” x 3”) Multi-color Bubble patterned piece of paper from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper pack.
    • Using Black Markers, Sharpie – Fine, Uniball Classic – Fine and Pentel Gel – Extra Fine, Stripes were added to five (5) of the Circle Bubbles in various directions with the aid of a Ruler.
    • The truncated word, SMILE, from the Sending Smiles stamp set was colored with the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped in the lower right corner.

Doodling, or in this case, Striping can add a great deal of interest to a simple patterned piece of paper.  I like how graphic this card turned out to be.  Hoping it makes you smile too!
