Beautiful Day – An Open Heart

The Weekend!  Welcome back.

Three challenges today.  The Card Concept (#195b) Garden Birds and I Spy with My Little Eye (#3) – Something with Wings.  Bringing my ideas together, the Atlantic Hearts (#526) Sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Accent Panel: (3¾” x 5⅛”) Early Espresso cardstock die-cut with the largest Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
• Background Panel: (3” x 4¼”) Pickled Pine patterned piece of paper from the retired Wood Textures Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with another of the Rectangle dies from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
• Focal Panel: (3” x 4¼”) Vellum also die-cut with the Deckled Rectangles Die.
  • The Berry Branch image from the retired An Open Heart stamp set was stamped on the left with retired Soft Suede ink.
  • Once dry, the Berries were colored on the reverse side with the Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party Stampin’ Write Markers.
  • The sentiment, there is something beautiful in every day, from the retired Beautiful Thistle stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
• Focal Shape – Garden Bird: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Bird image also from the An Open Heart stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink.
  • The Bird was colored with Crumb Cake and Pool Party ink using a Blender Pen.
  • The Bird was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A cut and fringed (4¼”) piece of retired Natural Finish Ribbon was added and the Bird was popped up with Dimensionals.

Loving the Naturals look of this pretty greeting card.
