Flamingo Roses – Best Wishes

Had a fabulous time at the Art Show.  So much inspiration!  Such talented artists.

Had a chance to play this afternoon after we got home…and decided to pull out the Artistically Inked stamp set.  So happy that it is still featured in the new 2023 / 2024 Annual Catalog.  It is a beauty!

Challenges: Inspired By (#237) for the sketch and the colors in the Floral Breakfast Napkin and Place Mat; The Four Seasons (May) also for the Flowers and the colors; and more specifically the Global Design Project (#393) colors.  

A Floral card for any occasion.  If you are celebrating Mother’s Day, you just need to change the greeting.  I will be thinking about mine with very fond memories.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The larger Floral Impression image was stamped with Smoky Slate ink in the two positions suggested by the sketch.
  • The sentiment, Best Wishes, was also stamped with Smoky Slate ink.
  • The panel was then dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  Such a favorite.
• Focal Images – Flowers & Leaves: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Rose image was stamped four times.  Twice with 1^st Generation and twice with 2^nd Generation (stamped off once) Flirty Flamingo ink.
  • The Double Leaf image was stamped in the same manner with Coastal Cabana ink.
  • The Flowers & Leaves were die-cut with the coordinating dies from the Artistic Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Darker Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals.  Four Coastal Cabana Rhinestones from the retired Waves Basic Jewels collection were added to the card.

Don’t have an embossing machine? You can fussy-cut the Flowers & Leaves with Paper Snips and and keep the background panel clean for a #simplestamping card. Just Stamps, Ink and Paper.
