Buckle My Shoe – Loving You

Welcome back!  It’s Friday…did you have a good week?

Playing with Double Trouble (#137) for the Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme theme partnering with Heart’s Quest (#29) with the Cool Color Palette as suggested by AAA Cards (#239) along with the current sketch over at Freshly Made (#585).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”) Coastal Cabana cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Shimmery White cardstock. 
  • For the Five (5) Strips suggested by the sketch, I chose the Line image from the retired Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Colors chosen top to bottom: Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron (retired), Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay (retired).
  • The Lines were softened by adding water with the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush.
  • Once dry, the other images were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The Buckled Shoe image is from the retired Timeless Treasures stamp set and the other two, Floral Frieze and Floral Sentiment are from the retired Lovely Romance stamp set.
  • Using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush, Bermuda Bay ink was added to highlight the stamped elements.

The completed panel was adhered to the card base for another #simplestamping card.  Just Stamps, Inks and Paper.

A lovely friendship card for and old soul.  It was fun to root around in my stash to select images to match a Nursery Rhyme.
