May Flowers – Honeybee Home

You have all been so patient with me.  It is amazing what one can accomplish when you have the house to yourself…

Last one…I Spy (#002) for the theme, Color Throwdown (#739) for the colors and Tuesday Morning (#703) for the sketch.  It just so happens that Color Dare (#545) is suggesting similar colors, so I will share this card with them as well.

Here is the result:

HONEYBEE HOME – PERFECTLY PENCILED DSP – EIS002 – CTD739 – TMS703 – CD545

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Certain Celery retired cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Certain Celery cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Top Panel: (5¼” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Quatrefoil Tile Embossing Folder.
  • Trim: (5¼” x ½”) Tahitian Tide cardstock scrap die-cut with the Small Dots Border die from the retired Ornate Borders Dies set.
  • Focal Image: Floral patterned piece of paper from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper pack fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
    • The Flowers were colored with Daffodil Delight and Certain Celery ink using a Blender Pen.  The ink was picked up off of a Clear Block that had been pressed into the ink.
  • Sentiment Flag: (3⅜” x ⅝”) Basic White cardstock scrap hand-flagged with Paper Snips.
    • The sentiment, You’re the nicest, from the Honeybee Home stamp set was stamped with Tahitian Tide ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals.

A sweet pretty Thank You card.

  1. Love the design of the embossing folder used on background along with another textured embossing for the bottom, and that scalloped edge is so pretty against the background. Beautiful floral. Thanks for sharing with us at Color Dare… don’t forget Double Trouble’s “Celebrate a Special Lady” challenge closing today at Double Trouble… hope to see you there.
