Best Day – Have Cake

Tuesday!  Design Team Challenge for Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#405).

Several challenges influenced my choices today: Facebook Stampin’ Through the Catalog – Best Day stamp set; Just Add Ink (#649) for the colors; Happy Little Stampers (April) for the Stencil; and The Male Room (#173) for Gender and Tools:

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The patterned design was created using Sponge Daubers, Poppy Parade and Bermuda Bay inks with the Line Box Stencil from the Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks set.
• Accent Panel: (3” x 4”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (2½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Birthday Cake image from the Best Day stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors selected were Light Smoky Slate, Light Bermuda Bay and Light Poppy Parade.
• Sentiment Circle: (1⅝”) Bermuda Bay cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, Wishing you all the Wishes, from the same stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment was die-cut with one of the Stitched Circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.  Three White Enamel Dots from my collection were colored with the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend Marker and added to the card.

A super fun and bright Birthday card.  Suitable for everyone but works well for a fellow.
