Happy Labels – Celebrate Sunflowers

Welcome back!  Looking for ideas to spark your creativity?  Hunt out a few challenge blogs…there are links to several in my blog posts.   

Another challenge mash-up:  Cupcake Inspiration (#566) for the theme; Global Design Project (#389) for the color choices; and Sunday Stamps (#306) for the sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
• Accent Panel: (5” x 3⅝”) Tahitian Tide cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4¾” x 3⅜”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The sentiment, life is better with you, from the Happy Labels stamp set was stamped with Tahitian Tide ink.
  • The panel was die-cut with the same sized Stitched Rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set.
• Focal Image Squares – Sunflowers: (5½” x 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The Large Sunflower image from the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink.
  • Using a Blending Brush, Daffodil Delight ink was blended over the entire image.
  • Using a Sponge Dauber, Pumpkin Pie ink was added to the center and the tips of the Sunflower image.
  • Using the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker, additional shading was added to the Sunflower Petals.
  • Portions of the Sunflower image were die-cut with the (1⅜” x 1⅜”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The die-cut panels were popped up with Dimensionals and a single string Bow was tied with Very Vanilla Baker’s Twine

I like the Art Gallery Collage treatment of the Sunflower segments.  A great little friendship card.
