Perfectly Penciled – HB A’ La Mode

Happy Day to you all!

Having a bit of a play before meeting friends for Easter dinner.

Challenges: Freshly Made Sketches (#580), Color Dare (#543), Happy Little Stampers (April) and Stampin’ Up! Creative (April).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Tahitian Tide cardstock.
• Four Shapes – Rectangles: Black Dotted and Black & White Tile patterned pieces of paper from the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Cut Sizes: (1⅛” x 1”), (1⅛” x 3¾”), (2⅜” x 3⅛”) and (2⅜” x 1⅝”) approximately.
  • Using the A’ La Mode Alphabet Dies, Letter H and Letter B, the sentiment HB for Happy Birthday was die-cut from the bottom left panel.
• Focal Image – Flower & Butterfly: The Butterfly and Flower were fussy-cut from one of the Floral patterned pieces of paper found in the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The Butterfly was colored with the Light and Dark Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blend Marker.

All panels were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flower adds a nice detail and the Butterfly is popped up with a Mini Dimensional.

Black and White with a pop of color.  A favorite combination.  Keeping it simple by using the A’ La Mode Alphabet Dies for the sentiment.
