Look Who’s Five – Birthday Bicycle

Tuesday!  Design Team Challenges for Cardz 4 Guyz (#319) and Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#402) using the colors suggested by Just Us Girls (#673)

Here is the result:

BESIDE ME – LOOK WHO’S TURNING – CT402 – C4G319 – JUGS673

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Crumb Cake cardstock dry-embossed with the Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Focal Panel: (2⅝” x 3⅞”) Very Vanilla cardstock die-cut with one of the Rectangle dies from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set.
    • The New Bicycle image was stamped with Soft Suede ink and colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers: Dad’s Top and Boy’s Shorts – Light Mossy Meadow; Dad’s Pants and Bike Helmet – Dark Crumb Cake; Boy’s Top – Light Crumb Cake; Hair and Shoes – Bronze; Skin – Ivory; Bicycle – Light and Dark Smoky Slate
  • Sentiment Flag: Crumb Cake cardstock scrap.
    • The truncated sentiment, Look who’s, from the retired Look Who’s Turning stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink and die-cut with the small Flag die from the All That Dies set.
  • Sentiment Banner: Mossy Meadow cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the same stamp set – Look Who’s Turning was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The sentiment was die-cut with the Banner die from the retired Tasteful Labels Dies set.
  • Number 5: Soft Suede cardstock scrap.
    • How old are you when you get your first two-wheeler?  I chose five for this little fellow.
    • The Number 5 die from the Alphabet A La Mode Dies was selected.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the base sketch.  A small Knot was tied using retired Old Olive Linen Thread.

Do you remember the fear and the thrill when you realized your parent let go and you where actually riding your bike solo?
