Garden Daisy – Birthday Wishes!

Welcome back! There is a lot of inspiration out there in the blog world.  Stuck for an idea?  Peruse the challenges I play with and have fun creating…

Let’s play with: Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#599) for the sketch and the suggested option; Color Throwdown (#736) for the colors; and Seize the Birthday (#258) for the themes.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) So Saffron cardstock dry-embossed with the new Cross-Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder available as an On-Line Exclusive.
• Top Block and Bottom Strip: (4½” x 1¾”) and (4½” x ¾”) Soft Succulent Gingham patterned piece of paper from the retired Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper pack
• Sentiment Block: (4” x 1¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment, birthday wishes, from the Amazing Year stamp set was stamped with Smoky Slate ink to the right side.
• Decoration – Daisies: Basic White cardstock.
  • A bunch of Daisies were stamped with Smoky Slate ink using the Daisy Garden Background stamp.
  • The Daisies were water-colored with So Saffron, Soft Succulent and Smoky Slate inks using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush.
  • Once dry, the Daisies were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Daisies were arranged on the left side of the Sentiment Block with the top Daisy popped up with Dimensionals.  For additional Garden bling, Brushed Brass Butterflies, were added to complete the card in lieu of the small flag element.

A lovely seasonal birthday card.
