Beautiful Destinations – Picturesque Butterfly

It is Tuesday…and I am playing with the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#401) challenge.  Let’s remake today’s choice.

My choices were inspired by the following challenges: Cupcake Inspirations (#565) for the Colors and Tic Tac Toe (#201) for the three elements – Butterfly, Patterned Paper and something Floral.  I am also sharing this with Make my Monday (#197) for the Letter “P” theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic Black cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Greenery Embossing Folder.
• Accent Panel: (3¼” x 4½”) White and Black Floral patterned piece of paper from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper pack.
• Sentiment Label: (3” x 1″) Vellum cardstock.
  • The truncated sentiment, beautiful destinations, from the Picturesque stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Focal Image – Butterfly: (4” x 3”) Shimmery White cardstock.
  • The Swallowtail Butterfly die was selected from the Brilliant Wings Dies set.

All elements were arranged and adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch sample however, I chose to orient the sentiment towards the bottom of the card.  A bit of retired Silver Metallic Thread was added under the Sentiment Label which was affixed with Mini Glue Dots under the b, d and s.

I like the dark tone of this card.  Often Black and White is more “White” than “Black”.
