Painted Floral – Sometimes…

Welcome back!  One last challenge deadline for today.

Atlantic Hearts (#517) sketch with colors selected from the Fancy Five board over at Color Dare (#540).

After a peruse through the catalogs, I settled on the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper pack to match the colors I chose: Soft Succulent (for Sage); Evening Evergreen (for Pine); and Soft Suede (for Toffee).

Here is the result:

GRASSY GROVE – FANCY FLORA DSP – AHSC517 – CD540

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Soft Succulent cardstock.
  • Top Panel: (5¼” x 2”) Soft Succulent, Evening Evergreen and Soft Suede Painted Floral patterned paper.
  • Bottom Panel: (5¼” x 2”) Soft Suede Painted pattern paper (reverse side of Floral paper).
  • Cross Strip: (5¼” x ⅜”) Brushed Gold cardstock from my stash bin.
  • Accent Mat: (2½” x 1⅜”) Evening Evergreen cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment Label: (2⅜” x 1¼”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Sometimes you need to know that someone really cares, from the Grassy Grove stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder.
  • Flag Detail: Brushed Gold cardstock scrap trimmed and flagged with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment Label was popped up with Dimensionals.

When you need an Encouragement, Get Well or Sympathy card, this one will work very nicely.

  2. I love that textured paper, I had to double check you didn’t paint on that and it was paper. What a lovely use of the great paper. Thanks for sharing with us at Colour Dare, I hope you can join us again soon.
