Look Who’s Turning Four – Celebrating with Zoo Babies

Yup!  It is Tuesday…and I am playing with the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#399) suggestion. Let’s remake that sample.

I was inspired by the following challenges: Seize The Birthday (#257) as I actually need a birthday card for a little girl; Retro Rubber (#202) because I have these cute retired children’s stamp sets; The current colors over at the Facebook Colour INKspiration (#139) work really well for a girl; and I added how old she was turning…Inkspirational (#285).

Here is the result:

ZOO BABIES – LOOK WHO’S TURNING – CT399 – STB257 – RRCB202 – CI139 – ICB285

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Melon Mambo cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5” x 3¾”) Pool Party Seagulls pattern piece of paper from the retired Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the Circular Opening die from the Picture This Dies set.
    • The sentiment, Look who’s turning…, from the retired Look Who’s Turning stamp set (circa 2009) was stamped in the top right hand corner with Melon Mambo ink.
  • In-set Circles: All cut using the Picture This Die.
    • (1¾”) Pool Party dry-embossed with Cross-Hatch Basics 3DEmbossing Folder.
    • (1½”) Basic White cardstock with Pacific Point ink stamped Rhinoceros from the retired Zoo Babies stamp set (circa 2012).
    • (1½”) Pacific Point cardstock stamped with the sentiment, Happy Birthday and the Party Hat from the Look Who’s Turning stamp set with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • (⅞”) Coastal Cabana cardstock stamped with the Number 4 from the Look Who’s Turning stamp set first into Versamark ink and then Pacific Point ink and heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder.
    • (⅞”) Basic White cardstock with Coastal Cabana stamped Lion from the Zoo Babies stamp set.
    • (⅞”) Bermuda Bay cardstock (to balance the colors) Toucan Bird stamped Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Focal Image – Giraffe: Basic White cardstock.
    • The Giraffe from Zoo Babies was stamped with Melon Mambo ink.
    • The Giraffe was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were arranged and adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Giraffe was tucked in and popped up with Dimesionals overlapping the background circle and the background panel.  The Lion and the Rhinoceros were also popped up.  The Toucan, Four and Sentiment were fitted into the circular openings.  A few shiny Iridescent Pink, Blue and White retired Adhesive Backed Seasonal Sequins were added for some “girly” sparkle.

I think she will like it.

  1. Oh gosh, this is so cute, Jolanda, and I LOVE the colors! This was such a fun set, how genius to bring in the Picture This dies! Adorable! Thanks so much for playing at Retro Rubber!
