Sweet Yummy Easter Bon Bons

What fun!  I had a chance to make another card this afternoon.

Influences: Try Stampin’ On Tuesday’s (#596) for the Sketch and optional Theme; Alphabet (Letter Y) for Yummy; Creative Colour (#79) for the fun bright color choice; and sharing with Ellibelle’s Crafty Wednesday (March) Anything Goes option and with Easter around the corner…that is my Anything.

Here is the result:

NOTHING BETTER THAN – TSOT596 – CCC79 – Alphabet Letter Y – ECC March 2023

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Melon Mambo cardstock.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 3½”) Granny Apple Green cardstock.
    • The Hexagon Shape (3⅝” x 3¼”) was created by adding (½”) to all sides of the traced (2⅝” x 2¼”) Hexagon die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies set with a Ruler.
    • The new cut lines were trimmed off creating the larger Hexagon Shape.
  • Banner: (1½” x 5⅛”) Melon Mambo/Mango Melody Zig Zag patterned piece of paper from the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Sentiment Shape: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Sentiments: TODAY IS A; Chocolate; KIND OF DAY, from the Nothing Better Than stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • The Sentiment was die-cut with the (2⅝” x 2¼”) Hexagon die.
  • Decoration – Bon Bons: Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody cardstock scraps.
    • The Bon Bon Outline stamp also from the Nothing Better Than stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • The Bon Bon Fill-In stamp was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder to get a glossy finish.
    • While there are coordinating dies, the Love You More Than Dies set, I opted to fussy-cut the Bon Bons because it was quicker.

Using the sketch as inspiration, the elements were adhered to the card front with the Bon Bons popped up with Dimensionals.

I can skip the Chocolate Easter Eggs, but I sure could go for some fun-colored Truffles!  How about you?

  3. What a wonderful card, so full of colours and yummyness. I absolutely love the sentiment: not only it matches the chocolate bon bons perfectly, I think it’s also such a universal wisdom that the card can be used for many different occasions. The arrangement of papers is beautiful, especially the zig-zag in the background that brings the colour scheme together. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.

    Hugs, Veronika
