Honeybee Home – Happy Easter

How is it the end of the week already?  Catching a few deadlines that creeped up on me.  Cheers!

Over at the Global Design Project (#384), we are asked to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) a card created by Kim Fee…this is my take on it.

I chose the colors from the CAS Colours & Sketches (#506) and the two related themes from Paper Players (#630) and Cupcake Inspirations (#564)

Here is the result:

HONEYBEE HOME BUNDLE – GDP384 – CC&S506 – PP630 – CIC564

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The card front was die-cut/embossed using the largest Stitched die from the Stitched with Whimsy Dies set.
  • Circle Frame: (2½”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with both the Embossed Circle die and the (1¾”) Circle die from the Beautiful Shapes Dies set.
  • Fronds: Parakeet Party cardstock scraps die-cut with the Leaf die from the Honeybee Blossoms Dies set.
  • Flowers: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Floral image from the Honeybee Home stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors used: Light and Dark Highland Heather and Parakeet Party.
    • The Floral image was die-cut with the coordinating die from the Honeybee Blossoms Dies set.
  • Bee: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Bee image from the Honeybee Home stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with the Dark Daffodil Delight and Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The Bee image was also die-cut with the coordinating die from the Honeybee Blossoms Dies set.
  • Sentiment Label: (2⅜” x ½”) Basic Black cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Easter, from the March 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Bunny Buddies was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

The Bee, Flower, Fronds and Frame were all liberally glittered with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, although it is difficult to see in the photo.  All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the card created by Kim.  A few Iridescent Sequins from the retired Expressions in Ink Ephemera Pack were added for a bit more sparkle.

A clean and simple take on the original design for a Spring Easter card.
