A little inspiration goes a long way…today I am actually creating for the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#398) challenge on Tuesday. At Case-ing Tuesday, we select a Card Sample from one of the current catalogs and remake it. Keep it the same, change it completely or create something in-between.

I was inspired by the following challenges: As You See It (#293) for a Recipe of Ingredients; Make My Monday (#195) to use a Tag; and The Alphabet Challenge (Letter X) for X’s and O’s.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
- Accent Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Petal Pink X’s, O’s and Hearts patterned piece of paper from the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the largest Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set. I like how these dies give you a torn impression without actually tearing your paper.
- Diagonal Cut Rectangle Panel – Tag: (4” x 2”) Rococo Rose cardstock scrap (retired) from my bin.
- The Tag was die-cut with one of the larger Tag dies from the Tailor Made Tags Dies set.
- Using one of the Deckled Rectangles Dies, the bottom edge of the Tag was diagonally cut.
- Focal Panel – (2⅜” x 2⅜”) Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
- The Floral Bunch image from the Amazing Year stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The Floral Bunch was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen were Light and Dark Petal Pink, retired Rococo Rose and Mint Macaron.
- The image was die-cut with the Square Stitched die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- The edges of the Square were crinkled by pinch pleating three corners. Using a Small Blending Brush, Crumb Cake ink was applied for a more distressed look.
- Sentiment Strips: Basic Black cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, Best Wishes, from the Happiness Abounds stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
- The sentiment words were clipped apart and trimmed with Paper Snips.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. A bit of retired Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim was added to the edge of the Square and Pearl Basic Jewels were added to the centers of the Flowers. The Focal Panel was popped up with Dimensionals.
Challenge Check: Distressed Paper, Blossoms, Pearls, Color Pink, Embossing…Tag…X’s & O’s…I think they are all accounted for!
A sweet subtle shabby chic all-purpose card.

Jolanda, great job on including all of the elements of the challenge, and for top notch distressing, as well! I love the way you coloured in your blossoms, and that little slip of lace under the edge! Thanks for cooking up our recipe at As You See It Challenges!

I think you’ve cooked up a storm with our 5 ingredients, Jolanda! I like the distressing of your centre panel. The use of the Deckle Edge dies adds another element of distressing. The master touch is the inclusion of that strip of lace. Thanks for playing along with us again at As You See It.
