Gilded Leaves – Cheers

Another work week and I am off to a good start. 

Playing with two clean and simple card challenges: CAS Colours & Sketches (#505) and AAA Cards (#235) and picking up the colors and themes from Inspired By (#227), Color Hues (#59) and Colorful Options (March).

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
  • Using a torn piece of Copy Paper and a Blending Brush, Old Olive ink was added to the bottom edge of the card front.
  • The Solid Leafy image from the Botanical Layers stamp set was stamped with Shaded Spruce ink.
  • A bit of glue was added to the base of the Leaves and allowed to dry a little bit.  When tacky Gilded Leafing was added.
• Sentiment – Cheers: (4¼” x 1¾”) Shaded Spruce cardstock scrap.
  • A cut piece of the Adhesive Sheets was added to the back of the panel and another piece of was added to half of the front of the panel.
  • The word, Cheers, from the retired Cheers Dies set was placed across the panel with half of the word crossing the front adhesive piece and then die-cut.
  • The adhesive backing was removed from the lower portion of the word Cheers and Gilded Leafing was applied.
  • When complete, the resultant “sticker” was removed from the panel and added to the card front.

And that was it!  A very clean and simple wonderful (my favorite color) green card stepped up with a bit of gold.  Enchanting…
