Perfectly Penned – Celebrate Today

What a glorious day today – perfect for celebrating!  I hope you are having a lovely day, too.

A whole lot of inspiration contributed to the making of this card…

Double Trouble (#132) celebrating Creative Creases (#52) on their two year anniversary and looking for a Fancy Fold and some Spring Flowers; Retro Rubber (#201) Tic Tac Toe Board choices – Die Cuts, Large Sentiment and Patterned Paper; TGIF (#410) for the Color Scheme; The Flower Challenge (#78) to use Dies; and bringing it all together, the current sketch from Tuesday Morning (#697) adapted to a Gate Fold.

Here is the result:

PERFECTLY PENNED – SUMMER SHADOW DIES – TMS697 – RRCB201 – DT132 – CCC52 – TFC78 – TGIFC410

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 2⅛” and 6⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Right Folded Panel was dry-embossed with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder.
    • (Note): I did this upside down, so I cut another piece of cardstock (2⅛” x 5½”), embossed it and added it on top.
  • Left Folded Panel: (2⅛” x 5½”) Dotted piece of patterned paper from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack was added on top.
  • Tilted Panel: (2” x 4½”) Grid patterned piece of paper also from the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper pack added to a Basic White cardstock piece of the same size for stability.
  • Sentiment Accent Mat: (3” x 2”) Pool Party cardstock.
  • Sentiment: (2¾” x 1¾”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Celebrate Today, from the retired Perfectly Penned stamp set (circa 2011) was stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink.
  • Decoration – Flowers: Blushing Bride, Highland Heather, Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green cardstock scraps.
    • The Flowers and Leaf images were die-cut with dies from the Summer Shadow Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the Gate Fold card base to resemble the sketch taking care to ensure that the Floral Decorations, Tilted Panel and the Sentiment Panel were only attached to the Left Folded Panel.

Very soft and pretty with this collection of colors. Is it not wonderful that Spring is on it’s way?
