Spring Floral Cascade – You’re the Nicest

Happy Saturday!  Welcome back.

Today I am playing with the following challenges: Try Stampin’ On Tuesdays (#595) for Sketch and Option Detail; Color Throwdown (#732) for the chosen Colors; Inspire Create (#137) and Global Design Project (#383) for the Spring Theme; Shopping Our Stash (#491) for adding Flowers; and sharing with Jan’s Digi Stamps (February) Anything Goes.

Here is the result:

QUUEN BEE DIES – HONEYBEE HOME – TSOT595 – CTD732 – ICC137 – SOS491 – JDS February

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Shimmery White cardstock.
    • Using all three, Wide, Medium and Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brushes, diagonal Stripes were water-colored with Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue and Night of Navy drops of Classic Stampin’ Ink™ Refills in a Paint Palette.
  • Accent Panel: (3” x 3¾”) Night of Navy cardstock shortened to show more of the painted stripes.
  • Focal Panel: (2½” x 2¾”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Bottom Cross Strip: (3½” x 1¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
  • Sentiment Strip: (3¾” x ⅝”) Night of Navy cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, You’re the Nicest, from the Honeybee Home stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Focal Image – Floral Cascade: Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral cardstock scraps.
    • The Large and Small Flowers were die-cut with the Floral dies from the Queen Bee Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flowers were arranged in a cascading pattern with some popped up with DimensionalsChampagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the larger Flowers and two Brushed Brass Butterflies were also added.
