Let’s Get Together – Celebrating You!

Welcome back!  I created this simple Birthday invitation card for a friend and incorporated a number of challenges.

The Card Concept (#189b) Inspiration Photo for the Colors, Tea Cup and Circle shape from the Weigh Scale; AAA Cards (#234) for the Style and Circle theme; Seize The Birthday (#256) for the Colors Red, White and I chose Crumb Cake; and Inkspirational (#284) for using Dies to get a Faux Stitching effect.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Case Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Sweet Sorbet cardstock.
  • The front of the card was die-cut with the (4¾” x 3⅜”) Stitched Rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set for the Framed opening.
• Under Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Circles: (1⅝”), (2⅛”) and (2½”) Circles from the retired Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper pack – Tea Cup, Tea Pot and White Back Side die-cut using the Circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • The Tea Pot and the Cup were colored with the Light Sweet Sorbet and both Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • The sentiment, Let’s Get Together Soon, from the Cup of Tea stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Backing Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Sweet Sorbet cardstock cut just a bit smaller.

The Crumb Cake Panel was fitted in behind the Stitched Frame opening and a Sweet Sorbet Panel was added in behind.  The Stitched Circles were arranged and adhered with the Tea Cup popped up with Dimensionals.  I added three Matte Dots to complete the card.  Two Sweet Sorbet from the 2022/2024 In-Color Matte Dots collection and one Basic White colored with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend Marker from the Classic Matte Dots collection.

On almost any trip to a Vintage store, you can find fun teapots and cups.  If your friend is a tea drinker like mine, adding to her collection of both teas and fun collectables can be a great birthday gift.
