Bamboo Sunset

I don’t know about you, but for me a really clean and simple styled card is often just right for a man.  Straight forward and to the point.

Here is my take on Nature for The Male Room (#171) challenge for February.  I decided to pair it with the February Orange color challenge from Give a Girl a Cookie (#177).

The result:

BAMBOO BEAUTY – TMR171 – CC177

Steps:

  • Case Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • Using Blending Brushes, Mango Melody ink was brushed into the left center position.  Calypso Coral ink was added above and below, blending the edges together.
    • Using the Stamparatus® Positioning Tool, the Bamboo Stalks, Leaves, Sentiment and Signature Tag images from the Bamboo Beauty stamp set were added with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

So quick and easy, but so striking.  An orange sunset is great with the black. The panel was added to the card base and a few Matte Black Dots were added for a bit of “boy” bling.

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.   Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. Jolanda, what a wonderful masculine card you’ve created! Love the ink blending and simplicity of the card!! I agree, oftentimes a more simple, yet bold card is much better for the guys in our lives. Your use of bamboo instead of other more feminine plants is perfect! Thank you for sharing your card with us at The Male Room for our “Nature” challenge!!! -Donna
