Adorable Owls – Hooray, It’s Your Day!

Welcome back!  Can you believe I have not yet had a chance to use the delightful Adorable Owls stamp set: a free Sale-a-bration selection?  Well, today is the day as we celebrate your day!  Happy Birthday.

Challenges: TGIF (#408) Play with your Sale-a-bration goodies; Creative Colour (#76) for the Colors chosen; Tic Tac Toe (#197) for Style, Tools, and Materials; Tuesday Morning Sketches (#695) for the Layout; and Crafter’s Café (#294) because that Owl is too Cute!

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Case Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (2¼” x 3½”) Brushed Metallic cardstock from my stash die-cut with that same sized die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies set.
• Focal Panel: (2” x 3⅛”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Birthday Owl image from the Adorable Owls stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The Owl was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors: Light Pool Party, Sweet Sorbet, Parakeet Party, Smoky Slate and Mango Melody as well as Dark Smoky Slate.
  • The Owl image was then die-cut with another of the Stitched Rectangles Dies.
• Banner Sentiment: Parakeet Party cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, It’s your day!, from the same stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
  • The sentiment was then die-cut with the (2¾” x ½”) Stitched Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Word Die: Sweet Sorbet cardstock scrap.
  • For the Tic Tac Toe element, the word: Hooray, from the retired Well Written Framelits Dies set was cut.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Banner popped up with Dimensionals.

Those large eyes, totally increase the “cute” factor of the little Owl.  What a fun celebration card!
