Best Day – Happy Birthday

Good Morning!  A quick little Birthday card for you.

Inspiration: Time Out (#232) celebrating their 9^th Anniversary.  I chose the sketch from TGIF (#407) and the colors suggested by the Global Design Project (#381) team.   Congrats to Time Out and to many more challenges to come…

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Case Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Fresh Freesia cardstock.
• Background Panels: Soft Dotted patterned piece of paper from the retired Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper pack.  Cut sizes: (4” x 2”); 2⅜” x 3⅛”); and (1½” x 3⅛”).
  • The panels were adhered to the card front.
  • Using the Stamparatus® Positioning Tool, The Happy Birthday Cake image from the Best Day stamp set was stamped in place with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
• Focal Image – Happy Birthday Cake: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The image was stamped again.
  • The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors: Retired Dark Pink Pirouette for Blushing Bride, Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Highland Heather.
  • The Letters, Banner and Cake were then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

The Fussy-cut elements were adhered in place, with the Banner and the Cake popped up with Dimensionals.

A sweet colored card suitable for a little girl.  When I was younger I loved the color pink and I know my Mother baked and frosted a pink cake for me.
