Beautifully Happy – Heirloom Oval

Can you believe it is the start of a new week?  Where does the weekend go?  Well, let’s get started…

Today I am playing with the Just Add Ink (#639) color suggestion and I selected the sketch from Paper Craft Crew (#504) using the wonderful Shimmery White cardstock.  It has such a pretty sparkly luster.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Case Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”)
• Oval Frame: (3½” x 4⅜”) dry-embossed with the retired Oval Heirloom Frame Embossing Folder.
  • I started with a quarter sheet of cardstock, embossed the frame and then die-cut it out with that same-sized Oval die from the retired Ovals Collection Framelits Dies set.
• Focal Image – Floral Spray: (2” x 3”)
  • The Floral image, from the Beautifully Happy stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on to a piece measuring (2½” x 3½”)
  • The Flowers and Leaves were colored with the Light Orchid Oasis, Polished Pink and Tahitian Tide and Dark Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • The image was die-cut with one of the smaller Oval dies from the retired Layering Oval Dies set.  The Leaves were fussy-cut, so that they would protrude beyond the oval cut.

The center Floral Oval was adhered to the Oval Frame and the Frame was adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  I opted for no sentiment as this card could be used for so many different occasions.

What fun to use the Embossed Oval Frame again.  It is pretty and really adds a touch of elegance to the card.
