Welcome to the weekend! Will you find some time to craft? After a morning of chores…here is what I created.
Playing with the Tuesday Morning (#694) Sketch and Color Throwdown (#729) along with a materials suggestion from Just Us Girls (#666) for a pretty birthday card.
Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Cherry Cobbler cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) made up of three pieces – Very Vanilla cardstock (4” x 1¾”), Petal Pink Gold Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Textured Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper pack (4” x 3½”), and Distressed Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper (4” x ⅞”) all layered on to the card front.
- The Words image from the Queen Bee stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder on the Very Vanilla cardstock piece.
- Focal Image – Floral Wreath:
- Wreath: Gold Colored Brushed Metallic cardstock and retired Brushed Gold cardstock die-cut with the Semi Circle Leaf die from the Queen Bee Dies set, 2 each of each cardstock.
- Flowers: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper and Cherry Cobbler cardstock scraps.
- Using the Medium-Tipped Water Painter Brush, a wash of Cherry Cobbler and Petal Pink inks were added to the watercolor paper.
- Once dry, the larger and smaller Flower dies, also from the Queen Bee Dies, set were die-cut from the watercolor paper and Cheery Cobbler cardstock.
- Decoration – Bees: Gold Glimmer/Glitter Paper from my scrap bin.
- Also, from the Queen Bee Dies set, the Small Bee Outline die, was die-cut twice.
- Sentiment Labels: Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, HAVE A PERFECT BIRTHDAY, from the Blessings of Home stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and also heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder.
- The sentiment was cut apart and was trimmed and flagged with Paper Snips.
All of the many pieces were arranged into a Floral Wreath and adhered to the card front. Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the Flower Centers and the Glitter Bees and Sentiment Tags were then positioned to resemble the sketch, completing the card.
Just buzzing by to wish you a very happy birthday.
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!
