Wonderful Friend – Abigail Rose

Happy to be able to create another card for you this afternoon.  Guess what?  The sun has come out…

Playing with Try Stampin’ On Tuesday’s (#592) Sketch and Creative Colour (#75) for a lovely friendship card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Sahara Sand cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5⅜” x 4⅛”) retired Naturals Ivory cardstock.
  • Several years ago, when Naturals Ivory cardstock and Gold Shimmer Paint were available, I experimented with Shimmer Spray.
  • To wit, I mixed several drops of Gold Shimmer Paint and Isopropyl Alcohol in a Stampin’ Spritzer bottle.
  • I laid out cardstock on Newspaper and sprayed.  I used what I needed then and have been adding sprayed pieces to various projects as time goes by.
• Semi-Circle Element – Floral Spray: Clipped image from Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The clipped Floral image was water-colored with the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush using Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Sahara Sand inks direct from Ink Pad Lids.
  • Tip: To reduce the curl resulting from wetting the paper, the clipped image was set between two pieces of kraft paper and ironed on a high heat setting.
  • The Floral Spray was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Sentiment Label: Sahara Sand cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, To a wonderful friend, from the Amazing Year stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The edges were trimmed on the diagonal.

The fussy-cut Floral image was adhered to the side of the card front panel and the sentiment label was tucked under one of the Flowers to resemble the flipped sketch.

A very pretty, very quick and simple card.
