Welcome to the weekend!
Given the time of year, many challenges are related to Valentine’s, Pinks and Reds and other Love related themes. Keeping that in mind, I really like the idea of Galentine Cards. Special cards for your girlfriends.
Several challenges today: Sketch and Technique – Try Stampin’ on Tuesday’s (#591); Color – Colorful Options (February); Themes – Stampin’ Up! Only (#319) and Global Design Project (#379); Subject and Materials – The Flower Challenge (#77); and Anything Goes – Jan’s Digi Stamps (January).
Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Evening Evergreen cardstock.
- Layer 1: (4” x 5¼”) Petal Pink and Gold Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Textured Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
- Layer 2: (3” x3”) Vellum textured with the Stitched Greenery Die.
- Layer 3: (2½” x 3½”) Distressed Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper die-cut with the Fretwork die from the Chic Dies set.
- Layer 4 – Sentiment Label: (2½” x ½”) Evening Evergreen cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, With Love, from the True Beauty stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder.
- Layers 5 and 6 – Decoration – Flower and accent Leaf: Blushing Bride, Evening Evergreen cardstock scraps and Distressed Gold Designer Series Paper scrap.
- The Flower Base (Blushing Bride), the Flower Detail (Distressed Gold) and the Leaf (Evening Evergreen) were die-cut with additional dies from the Chic Dies set.
All layers (elements) were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. What a lovely card this turned out to be. I know just which friend needs a pick-me-up and it is on its way!
Thanks for spending some of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda!
