Falling Snow – In the Pines

I should be getting ready for the Holidays – there is so much to do but I just want to play in the Studio.

A card created with bits and bobs that were on my desk from previous projects for the Tic Tac Toe (#191) challenge and combining it with the Paper Player (#621) colors and Retro Rubber (#197) for the theme and Can You Handle the Pressure (#21) for the theme and tools.

Here is the result:

IN THE PINES – PINE WOODS DIES – TTTC191 – PP621 – RRCB197 – CYHTP21

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock (instead of Very Vanilla).
  • Accent Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Real Red cardstock (instead of Cherry Cobbler).
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Crumb Cake cardstock dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Cross Strip: Red/ White/Green Plaid patterned piece of paper from my Scrap Bin.
  • Scalloped Oval Accent: (3” x 4”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with one of the Oval dies from the retired Layering Ovals Dies set.
  • Oval Tree: (3” x 4”) Shaded Spruce Speckled piece of patterned paper, also from my Scrap Bin (instead of Evening Evergreen).
    • The patterned paper was die-cut with both an Oval die and a Tree die from the (a) retired Layering Oval Dies set and the (b) retired Pine Woods Dies set to create the Snow Covered Tree Silhouette once the two ovals were layered.
  • Sentiment Banner Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut cut with the smaller Banner die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • The sentiment, Season’s Greetings, from the retired In The Pines stamp set (circa 2020) was stamped with Real Red ink.

All elements were arranged and adhered to the card base.  The sentiment banner was popped up with Dimensionals over a piece of Gold Shimmer Ribbon for a sweet country chic Christmas card.
