In The Moment – Time to Relax

Welcome back!  Again, it is Sunday, and a number of challenge deadlines are due.

This morning, Colors – Creative Colour Challenge (#65), Double Trouble (#126) Mixed Patterns partnering with the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday (#584) Sketch and Technique along with Inkspirational (#279).

Here is the result: 

IN THE MOMENT – TSOT584 – DT126 – CCC65 -INKSPIRATIONAL279

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Coastal Cabana cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Tufted Embossing Folder for a cozy pillow look.
  • Cross Strip: (4¼” x 2”) Petal Pink Plaid patterned piece of paper from the 2022/2023 Subtles Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Shape: (2¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with one of the dies from the retired Stitched Nested Dies set.
    • From the In The Moment stamp set, the Girl in the Window image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the sentiment was stamped with Pacific Point ink.
    • Color was added to the Window with the retired Medium Soft Sky Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker.
  • Paper Piecing Technique: The Girl in the Window image was stamped several times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink on various papers and fussy cutting with Paper Snips.
    • Layer 1 – Basic White cardstock.  Hair colored with the Bronze Stampin’ Blend Marker.
    • Layer 2 – Petal Pink cardstock for the Arms and Legs.
    • Fabrics: TopCoastal Cabana Striped pattern from the2022/2023 Brights Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack; PantsPacific Point Checked patterned piece of paper from the Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper pack; Pillow – Multi-Colored patterned paper piece from the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack; and MugCoastal Cabana Floral patterned piece of paper (flip side) of the Striped patterned piece.
    • All of the fussy cut pieces were adhered in position and then adhered to the original stamped image.

The card was completed to resemble the sketch.  It was tricky to find an image in my collection that would suit the Paper Piecing Technique.  I think this one worked well.  In this busy holiday season, taking a moment to relax may just be what you need.
