Merry Merry – North Pole Mischief

Welcome back to the Inque Spot Studio!  It has been a busy couple of days…so glad I had a chance to play today.

Over at Just Us Girls (#656), the challenge is to create Holiday Tags, so this is what I decided to do.

I incorporated several other challenges to inform my choices.  Stamp set choice: Facebook Stampin’ Through the Catalog for today, Thursday, November 3^rd and Facebook Joy of Sets for November, Colors: Creative Colour (#61) used for the November Stampin’ Up! Creative Challenge and Technique Coloring: Colour Crazy Craft (#42).

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Tag: (5½” x 4”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • The cardstock was trimmed on two corners to create the tag shape.
  • The Tag Hole was punched with the retired Detailed Trio Punch.
  • The tag was dry-embossed with the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder to mimic the little tree in the Fish Bowl.
• Accent Oval: (4⅜” x 3½”) Daffodil Delight cardstock die-cut with the largest oval die from the retired Layering Ovals Collection Framelits Dies set.
• Frame Accent: (4½” x 3⅝”) Orchid Oasis cardstock traced and fussy cut with Paper Snips to fit behind the Focal Frame.
• Focal Frame: (4½” x 3⅝”) Melon Mambo cardstock die-cut with the Filigree Frame from the new Framed Florets Dies set.
• Focal Image: (4½” x 3⅝”) Basic White cardstock
  • The Cat and Fish image from the North pole Mischief stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The image was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors Used: Light and Dark Crumb Cake, Light and Dark Melon Mambo, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light and Dark Orchid Oasis, Light Smoky Slate and retired Light Soft Sky
  • The sentiment, Merry Merry was stamped with Orchid Oasis ink.
  • The image was then die-cut with the same Filigree Frame to create the inset matching Oval.
• Tag Tie: White Crinkled Seam Binding was colored with the Light Orchid Oasis Stampin’ Blend and tied through the Tag Hole.

A fun Holiday Critter Tag perfect for a Cat Lover to attach to a Gift or Gift Bag.
