Christmas Countdown – Season’s Greetings

Welcome back to the Inque Spot Studio!

A quick clean and simple winter holiday card this morning for a couple of challenges.

Theme: CAS on Friday (#243) with the Sketch and Theme from Tuesday Morning (#681).  Always fun to pull out stamps from your stash and give them a little love.

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pool Party cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • To create the four cross strips suggested by the sketch, I selected stamps from the Christmas Countdown and Plane & Simple retired stamp sets.
    • Box and Stitch – Poppy Parade ink (Plane & Simple).
    • Poinsettia Filagree – Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Write Markers (Christmas Countdown).
    • Diamond Smock – Shaded Spruce ink (Christmas Countdown).
    • Dots – Soft Suede ink (Christmas Countdown)
    • The sentiment, Season’s Greetings, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped with Soft Suede ink under the Box and Stitch image.
    • The completed panel was dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Focal Shape – Oval: (2¾” x 1⅞”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Cardinal on the Branch image from the Christmas Countdown stamp set was stamped with Timber Brown Stazon ink.
  • Using a Blending Brush, Balmy Blue ink was added around the image.
  • The Cardinal was colored with Light and Dark Poppy Parade and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • The Cardinal was die-cut with one of the stitched oval dies from the retired Stitched Shapes Dies set.

The Cardinal Oval was popped up with Dimensionals, completing the card.  Happy Holidays!
