Welcome back! Lots happening around town this weekend and the weather is supposed to be fantastic, so I am trying to get ahead…
Current challenges: The Card Concept (#181); Freshly Made Sketches (#577); Addicted to CAS (#230) and the Alphabet Challenge (#Letter N).

Using the Red/Blue/Purple tones from the Forest Lake inspiration photograph, here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (11” x 4¼” scored at 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
- Card Front:
- The sentiment, Let Nature and Heaven Sing, from the Perched in a Tree stamp set was inked with the retired Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Write Marker. The sentiment was stamped split with “Sing” added to the bottom.
- Background Panel: (4¼” x 3½”) Blue/Red/Gray Tree patterned piece of paper from the retired Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper pack.
- Square Mat: (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with one of the stitched square dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
- Focal Image – Bird on Branch: Basic White cardstock scraps.
- The Bird image was stamped with waterproof Timber Brown Stazon ink and watercolored with the Medium Tipped Water Painter Brush. Layered colors: Cajun Craze, Misty Moonlight, Smoky Slate and Merry Merlot inks.
- The Beak and Talons were colored with the Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil.
- The Branch was stamped with Soft Suede ink and lightly colored using a Blender Pen.
- Both images were die-cut with the coordinating die from the Aspen Dies set.
The Bird and Branch were adhered to the Square Mat with the Bird popped up with Dimensinals and the Branch trimmed.
Sitting on the dock, early on a misty Fall morning listening to the birds sing…that is heavenly!
Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today. Cheers, Jolanda.

I love your autumn-inspired card and the pastel shades you used. The trees in the background look like they’re covered in fog, and I like how you made the bird stand out by adding this tiny white square behind it. Not only it draws attention to the main motif, it also goes well with the white space on top and bottom. Such an interesting effect against the colourful leaves. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.
Hugs, Veronika
