Alphabest Floral – Special Birthday

Welcome back to the Inque Spot Studio! Today, I decided to play with the Facebook Colour INKspiration Challenge (#130).  What a wonderful set of colors!  So rich and vibrant yet, I must admit it took me a little bit of time to come up with an idea.

A complete mishmash of stamp sets and coordinating tools were used.  Here is the result:

ALPHABEST BUNDLE – HAPPINESS ABOUNDS BUNDLE – GARDEN BIRDHOUSES – FRESH CUT FLOWERS – FANCY FRAMES DIES – CI130 – TFC73 – HLS October

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Highland Heather cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Hope each moment of your day is as special as you are, from the Garden Birdhouses stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • Background Panel: (3” x 4½”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • Overlay Frame: (3” x 4½”) Granny Apple Green cardstock die-cut with the Leaf Motif frame from the Fancy Frames Dies set.
  • Frame Inset: (3” x 4½”) Fresh Freesia cardstock also die cut with the same frame die.  Only the (1½” x 3”) Inset piece was added to the card.
  • Focal Images – Flower Vases: Basic White cardstock scraps.  The Images were colored with Stampin’ Blends.
    • Vases: Three of the Patterned Label image stamps from Alphabest stamp set were stamped with Night of Navy ink.
      • Left Vase: The Dots were colored with Light Granny Apple Green.
      • Center Vase: The Stripes were colored with Light Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy.
      • Right Vase: The Leaf Pattern was colored with Light Granny Apple Green.
      • The Vases were then punched out with the coordinating Best Label Punch.
    • Flowers: The three bunches of flowers came from three different stamp sets and were all stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
      • Left Vase: From the Garden Birdhouses stamp set colored with Light Highland Heather and Granny Apple Green and then fussy cut with Paper Snips.
      • Center Vase: From the Happiness Abounds stamp set colored with Light Highland Heather, Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green.  The image was die-cut the coordinating flower die from the Blossoming Happiness Dies set.
      • Right Vase:  From the Fresh Cut Flowers stamp set colored with Light Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green.  The image was die-cut with the coordinating flower die from the Fresh Cut Stems Dies set.

All of the elements were arranged on the card base.  Each Flower Vase was popped up with Dimensionals.

  1. Jolanda it’s the second time this week I’ve seen this gorgeous Heather paper – such a perfect pick for your card based on this fabulous photo! I adore Cedar Waxwings – this one has had a bit of tweaking by the editor, but gorgeous just the same!
Thanks so very much for sharing your darling birthday card with The Flower Challenge! These little vases are so sweet – loving the sentiment, too!
