Christmas Scottie

A quick little non-traditional Christmas card for you.

The Facebook Stampin’ Through the Catalog group is featuring the Christmas Scottie stamp set today.  The stamp set comes with a coordinating Scottie Dog Punch, which is a really great combination.

I chose the current sketch over at Jingle Belles and the colors suggested by Cupcake Inspiration (#554).

Here is the result:

CHRISTMAS SCOTTIE BUNDLE – PERFECTLY PENCILED DSP – STYLISH SHAPES DIES – STTCCHALLENGE – JINGLEBELLES – CIC554

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Merry Christmas, was stamped with Polished Pink ink.
    • The Snowflake image was randomly stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Smoky Slate ink.
  • Side Panels: (1¼” x 5¼”) Black and White Dotted patterned piece of paper from the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Tilted Square: (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Basic White cardstock and (2⅜” x 2⅜”) Polished Pink cardstock.
    • The Gingham Plaid image was stamped onto the Basic White cardstock piece with Polished Pink ink and then die-cut.
    • Both Squares were die-cut with the respective sized stitched square dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Image – Scottie Dog: Shimmery White cardstock.
    • The All-Fours Dog image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  The not-true black coverage allows for the sparkle in the paper to shine through as well as suggest a “curly” coat.
    • The Dog Collar was colored with the Dark Polished Pink Stampin’ Blend Marker.
    • The Dog was punched out with the coordinating punch.

All of the elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Rhinestone Basic Jewels were colored pink with the Stampin’ Blend Marker and added to the side panels for a bit of holiday bling.

I am very fond of the Scottie Dogs in this stamp set.  The Gingham Plaid is a fun touch.  Perfect in so many colors.
