Amazing Bear – Count on Me

Welcome back!  Hope you are enjoying your Weekend.

Over at The Male Room (#166), the challenge is to choose a song title and create a card.  I chose “Simon Smith and the Amazing Dancing Bear” by Harry Nilsson.  For my Bear, I opted for the cutie in the Count on Me stamp set.

To complete my card, I selected the sketch from Freshly Made (#555) and the colors from Color Throwdown (#712).

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Starry Sky cardstock.
• Front Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The sentiment, let’s celebrate, from the retired Balloon Adventures stamp set was stamped with Crumb Cake ink.
• Accent Panel: (3⅞” x 5⅛”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
• Circle Shape – Three Balloons: Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya and Very Vanilla cardstock scraps.
  • The Balloon images from the same stamp set, Balloon Adventures, were stamped with Calypso Coral ink.
  • The Balloons were punched out with the retired coordinating Balloon Bouquet Punch.
• Rectangle Shape – Bear: Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
  • The Bear image from the Count on Me stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Overalls were drawn on to the Bear’s body with a Black Pentel Liquid Gel Pen.
  • The Bear was colored with Stampin’ Blends.  Bear: Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Overalls: Light Orchid Oasis and Light Starry Sky.
  • The Bear was then fussy cut with Paper Snips.

The Balloons and the Bear were added to the card front with one Balloon and the Bear popped up with Dimensionals.  The two Calypso Coral Balloons were outlined and the Balloon Strings were drawn in with the Black Gel Pen, completing the card.

Let’s dance, let’s celebrate…a cute card suitable for a little fellow or a fun loving older one.
