Simply Sketched – Sympathy Card

Some Sundays just get off to a slow start…

A few clean and simple (CAS) style challenges came together quickly.

AAA Cards (#223) for the theme, Addicted to CAS (#228) for the subject and Less is More (#472) for the color.

Sympathy cards are my least favorite to make…yet I love a black and white color scheme which looks particularly stunning with a singularly beautiful image.

Here is the result:

SIMPLY SKETCHED – BAMBOO BEAUTY – AAACC223 – ATCAS228 – LIM473

Steps:

  • Steps:
  • Card: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White Thick cardstock.
    • The Bird image from the lovely retired Simply Sketched stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • Using the Stamp-a-ma-jig Positioning Tool, the sentiment, Sending Caring Thoughts, from the Bamboo Beauty stamp set was tucked in under the Grasses also using memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • Using the Big Shot Embossing Mats with the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine and the Ticket Corner Rectangle die from the Painted Labels Dies set, a frame was embossed around the stamped image and sentiment for a little subtle texture.

Quick, easy and elegant.  Both spare and thoughtful.
