Happiness Abounds – Pretty Posies

Welcome back!  Hope you are having a lovely week.  We have some weekend plans, so I am trying to get a few more challenges completed.

Sketch – Try Stampin’ on Tuesdays (#567) and Colors – Creative Color (#49).

Technique – Happy Little Stampers Watercolor (August) and as the card also checks the boxes, The Flowers Challenge (#71).

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Early Espresso cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.                
  • Using the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush, a wash of Poppy Parade ink was applied and allowed to dry.
  • The sentiment, Life is better with a friend like you, from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped at the bottom with Early Espresso ink.
• Nine Shapes – Circles & Diamonds.
  • Circles: (3” x 5”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • Also using the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush, a wash of Balmy Blue ink was applied and allowed to dry.
  • The Three Posy Bunch image from the Happiness Abounds stamp set was stamped on to the panel five times with Timber Brown Stazon ink pad.  I chose this color to match Early Espresso and because it is waterproof.
  • The Posies were then water colored with the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush with Poppy Parade for the Petals and Garden Green for the Leaves.
  • The Posies were then punched out with the (1¼”) Circle Punch.
  • Diamonds: Early Espresso cardstock scraps.
  • Four Cross Hatch Diamonds were die-cut with that shaped die from the All That Dies set.
  • The Nine shapes were arranged and adhered to the card front to resemble to sketch.
