Celebrate!

Welcome back! I have been given the opportunity to be the featured Designer for the Color Throwdown Team this week.  Such fun to play along.

The colors that we get to work with (CTD705) this week are Purple, Red and Green and looking at the inspiration photograph, I selected Rich Razzleberry, Sweet Sorbet and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Up! colors.  Such an eclectic collection of colors.

To create this card, I was influenced by these other challenges: Seize the Birthday (#244); Tic Tac Toe (#173); and Happy Little Stampers Stencil (August).

Bringing it all together, the Stampin’ Up! Only Sketch (#307) Challenge.

Here is the result: 

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Parakeet Party cardstock.
  • The right edge of the card base was decorated using a mask and Parakeet Party ink.
  • The Stencil / Mask was die-cut from Copy Paper using one of the dies from the Artisan Additions Dies set.
  • Using repositionable tape and a Blending Brush, the stenciled pattern was added.
• Side Panel: (3” x 5½”) Sweet Sorbet Dotted patterned piece of paper from the 2022/2024 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
• Circle Shape – Sunflower: (3½” x 3½”) Sweet Sorbet and Rich Razzleberry cardstock die-cut with the large coordinating Flower dies from the Sunflowers Dies set.  The Flower Center was also die-cut from a scrap of Parakeet Party cardstock with a die from the same set.
• Center Cross Strip and Right-Side Rectangle: Replaced with two die-cut Leaves, from the same set of dies, using Parakeet Party and Rich Razzleberry cardstock scraps.
• Sentiment: (4” x 1½”) Rich Razzleberry cardstock scrap.  The word Celebrate was die-cut with one of the word dies from the retired Celebrate You Thinlits Dies set.

The Flower and Leaves were assembled and all of the elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Flower was popped up with Dimensionals. 

A vibrant floral birthday card with no stamping and stenciling detail that echo the shapes of the flower petals.  These colors are a party all on their own!
